It is a well-known fact that colored glasses has been popular with churches for centuries. As a matter of fact, many people today still associate stained glass with religion institution. That was history. Today, with the evolving designs, many people began to see the beauty of stained glass window film installed on home. That is why there are many homes that have adopted stained glasses.

Even though technology had advance much in the past two decades, many home owners still find that stained glass are still expensive to be installed on home windows. Home owners today have another choice. Stained glass window film could still provide home owners with the stained glass look without having an actual stained glass.

There are many availability of designs and patterns to choose from and these ranges from natural scenes to repeating patterns. All these patterns will leave a very deep impression on whoever views it. Now that home owners have the choice of stained glass window films, they could easily install it for their home windows.

There are now growing numbers of American populations who had stained glass films installed at their homes. Stained glass films not only beautify the homes, it makes the room more elegant. It still allow light to shine in and the light is soothingly diffused such that the entire room seems to bask in its glow.

Another factor why stained glass window film is becoming popular among American home owners is because there is now a tendency to re-establish historical ties with our past. As stained glass became largely popular during the Victorian era, the use of stained glass window film gave the house a more Victorian feel.

You hardly find any house that has all its windows or doors installed with stained glass window films. Doing so makes your house look strange. It will make your house looks like it is a church or a Christian religious establishment.

If you want to really beautify your house with stained glass window film, try to start by choosing a suitable location for the glass film to be installed. Suitable location are those where people naturally gather. Examples are the dining hall and the living room or a big window located at the main staircase.

The other important factor to consider when installing stained glass window film is the overall theme of the room. Choose those patterns that will blend in well with the color of the room. There is another advantage of choosing window film over traditionally replacing the clear glass window with stained glass.

There were cases where after replacing the clear glass with a manufactured stained glass, owners found that the designs do not blend in that well. Using window film helps to eliminate the problem of wrong choices. If you find that the designs do not blend in that well, then all you need to do is to just peel off the window films.

Many stained glass films today are produced in such a way that you can just install them on your own as a DIY project. However, if you have a large piece of glass window, then it may be a good idea to engage a team of professionals to install it for you. Most of the time, you should be able to handle the installation by yourself.

You starts the installation of the window films by totally cleaning the glass window and ensuring that it is smooth and free of any dust. Fill up a spray bottle with some mild soap and spray the glass surface. Remove the backing paper off the window film. Try not to allow the window film to touch anything as it may attract dust that will be difficult to remove.

Gently place the film on the glass surface and allows it to “float”. Position them to almost the final position and spray some more soapy solution on the window film surface. Then, use a squeegee to squeeze out any air bubbles from beneath the stained glass film. Use a utility knife to trim off excess window film to match the size of your window.

There are many designs and patterns that is available from the market and in choosing stained glass film, find only those that best suit your needs and functions. The quality of stained glass window films had improved significantly today compared to the past and nobody will comment that your window looks ‘cheap’ as they can hardly tell them apart.
